True story
If you get cut off by an undercover squad car while legally crossing a crosswalk, do not slap the vehicle as it roars by.
My friend did this in 1983. Four men in suits frog-marched him to the car, while I, visitor from Minnesota, gaped in dismay.
They let him go, very scared.
