"Joking is a dangerous game" is an essay by Karl Jones.

Joking is a dangerous game

Joking is a dangerous game. In general I am against jokes about serious topics.

Jokes can raise awareness, which is a good thing.

But they necessarily raise emotion, which is a bad thing (f you believe, as I do, that rational thought is highly survival-oriented, emotion not so much).

And, like oracles, jokes can be interpreted *any way one likes*, which diminishes or ruins the awareness value.
