George Beck: October 16, 1943

Been off work for the last five days with my fingers, on top of this I had three boils and a eye bad, roll on, everything seems to come together. On Monday we lose our guard, he's been very good to us and with him goes the wireless. Wonder what Alice is doing now at this moment, I can’t ever imagine going back to England and settling down at all. Russians still pushing on. Out in Italy things are slow.
