History
The Earl apparently wrote The Adulteration of Bergamot as a private erotic tribute to the Reform Act of 1832 (nonfiction), using his beloved Bergamot essential oil (nonfiction) as inspiration.
Extant copies?
John Brunner says that he knows -- but cannot prove -- that Euphoriolanus owns at least one copy, and possibly more, and furthermore that Euphoriolanus is running a secret Bergamot adulteration laboratory.
