The present is embodied in Hexagram 7 - Shih (The Army): With firmness and correctness, and a leader of age and experience, there will be good fortune and no error.
The first (bottommost) line, divided, shows the host going forth according to the rules for such a movement. If these be not good, there will be evil.

The future is embodied in Hexagram 19 - Lin (Approach): There will be great progress and success, while it will be advantageous to be firmly correct. In the eighth month there will be evil.
The things most apparent, those above and in front, are embodied by the upper trigram K'un (Earth), which represents docility and receptivity.
The things least apparent, those below and behind, are embodied by the lower trigram K'an (Water), which is transforming into Tui (Lake). As part of this process, danger and the unknown are giving way to joy, pleasure, and attraction.
Denial of stellation
- Stellation @ Wikipedia: the process of extending a polygon in two dimensions, polyhedron in three dimensions, or, in general, a polytope in n dimensions to form a new figure. Starting with an original figure, the process extends specific elements such as its edges or face planes, usually in a symmetrical way, until they meet each other again to form the closed boundary of a new figure. The new figure is a stellation of the original. The word stellation comes from the Latin stellātus, "starred", which in turn comes from Latin stella, "star".
