President Donald Trump held a campaign rally in Bemidji, Minnesota in 2020.

Commentary

Context: "The dog whistles in Trump’s vile statement are deafening"

This is old news, but I remember Trump visiting Bemidji, MN (pop 14, 500) and telling the crowd "you have the good genes".

I believe "good genres" is dog whistle for "White people"

Rambling 2 hour speech in an airport hangar … he praised confederate general Robert E. Lee, bemoaned his own fate of having to make speeches in places like Bemidji, Minn., and played the usual favorites (“Lock her up!”)

Sad irony:

Bemidji is a central city for three Indian reservations, site of many Native American services, including the Indian Health Service.

Indian Reservations: Red Lake, White Earth, Leech Lake
