Lethal Weapon is a 1987 American buddy cop action film directed by Richard Donner, starring Mel Gibson (nonfiction) and Danny Glover as a mismatched pair of L.A.P.D. detectives
Mitchell Ryan and Gary Busey play the primary adversaries.
The film was a critical and commercial success, and resulted in three sequels: Lethal Weapon 2 (1989), Lethal Weapon 3 (1992) and Lethal Weapon 4 (1998).
