Received letter and photograph from wife. Latest news confirmed, “Armistice signed in Syria and British troops have taken possession”. About time we started doing something. Roll on a long time.

Reina Spiegel: July 24, 1942
Renia Spiegel began her diary in January 1939 at the age of 15.
Dear God, help us. We need to pay our contribution by 12 o’clock tomorrow. The city is in danger. But I still have faith. My faith is deep and I beg you. You will help us, Bulus and God.
Duane Nelson: July 24, 1944
