Government by tax criminals is a phrase coined by Karl Jones describing the Trump presidency.

Origin

Jones used the phrase in several Facebook posts concerning Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin in April of 2020. For example:

Mnuchin is in criminal defiance of Federal subpoena to turn over Trump's tax records. For what, a year now? Longer?

This whole government-by-tax-criminals would be *over* if law-abiding government officials would *do their duty* and arrest Mnuchin and open the tax files.
