Chimera is a party game which is made up of various other games.

It was conceived as a party game for Minicon 55, following the inspiring success of the Great Nerd Giveaway at Minicon 54.

Rules

Games and puzzles

  • Who Am I? (Name on my back)
    • Multiple categories: People, places, things - the List Game
      • Allow players to contribute their own categories
  • Telephone Game
  • Coders / Decoders: Volvelle, Nomogram
  • Logic Cards / Envelopes, e.g. Clue
  • Charades
  • Pictionary
  • Clay pictionary
  • Puppet/toy miming

Items

  • Cards (postcard-sized) in dispensers posted in key locations - cards entice players, lure them in, get them started, and direct them to the game headquarters
  • Coders / Decoders: Volvelle, Nomogram
    • Two-card volvelle with windows in upper card revealing details of lower card
  • Logic Cards / Envelopes, e.g. Clue
    • Envelopes with windows, reveal card details -- cards might slide, changing options
  • Minicon 55 custom playing cards
