Portable envy is envy (nonfiction) which has been removed from an individual, and stored for transportation and later experience.

Manufacturers initially substituted cheaper components to save money during the Capacitor plague (nonfiction) years.
Subsequently, pirate manufacturers have released knock-off circuit boards with built-in portable envy features.
