Left behind in America

Rural people feel left behind this country, have felt left behind for generations — since approximately the American Civil War, which established definitively that Industry, based in cities, and not agriculture, would rule America.

The irony is that cities have even more disaffected, alienated citizens who feel as left behind as rural people.
